Our Mission:
Food for all.
Our Mission of The Food Pantry at St. Gregory of Nyssa Church, San Francisco transcends any political or social divisions. We operate with one fundamental truth: every one of our neighbors needs nourishment to survive and thrive. Our work is guided by a set of core values that are rooted in our collective belief in the inherent dignity of all people-regardless of race, religion, beliefs, background, or circumstances.
Whether you are a financial supporter or a valued volunteer, your partnership and support enables us to help our neighbors work together towards a life of dignity and prosperity which uplifts our community.
When we launched The Food Pantry in 2000, we served 35 families. Now we have over 1,400 registered, and serve up to 500 a week.
The Food Pantry isn’t funded by the church or by grants, but is supported by an all-volunteer staff and donations from individuals. We're proud of the way that our community has responded in these hard times.
