We’re located in Potrero Hill in San Francisco, and open on Fridays only. We unload and set up every Friday from 8:30 AM to about 11AM, and open to offer groceries from 12:30 PM until 3:30PM. We welcome your help for morning, afternoon, or both shifts: please note that we can NOT take groups.

We’re looking for friendly, hardworking volunteers who enjoy working with all kinds of people. We especially need multi-lingual (Cantonese/Russian/Spanish-speaking) volunteers, those who can help with heavy lifting, and those who love logistics and organizing! All ages fine; no groups, please.

“I had a great experience last Friday. The grocery was healthy and exactly what we needed. The kids loved baked sweet potato tonight. We have also been eating the apples and oranges. They make the perfect snack. I want to thank you and your organization again for helping us out. The food pantry’s program cut our grocery bill by half this week. Our family really appreciate it!”

Saturday July 28, the NEW TASTE MARKETPLACE, a monthly fundraiser for The Food Pantry, returns to St. Gregory’s from 2PM-7PM with more than twenty local chefs, bakers, food trucks and artisan food producers. Come eat, drink, buy treats to take home, and sample everything from Meyer lemon-blueberry pie, Madagascar chocolates, and caramel popcorn to bourbon-bacon BLTs, Southeast Asian charcuterie and tandoori lamb.

New Taste Marketplace happens the fourth Saturday of every month, from 2PM-7PM. 500 DeHaro St. San Francisco CA 94107.

Every week we give away hundreds and hundreds of pounds of fresh bread. Most of it is donated by local bakeries and stores––we get huge bags of  whole wheat, sourdough, multigrain, raisin, pumpernickel and white loaves;  crumpets, croissants, danishes, rolls and muffins; tortillas, naan, pita and lavash; bagels and bialys, rounds and rings. Thanks to all our bakers, drivers, and donors who make it possible to feed the people with such fresh and delicious daily bread!
